What is Laser Therapy?
Laser Therapy is a special kind of laser light that enters the body to produce pain relief and quick healing. It is called cold laser because no significant heat is produced either on the skin's surface or deeper inside the body. This distinguishes it from other modalities such as TENS or ultrasounds.
How does laser therapy work?
Laser Therapy delivers a special kind of light to the body. It relieves pain by stimulating the release of endorphins. Endorphins are the body's own natural painkillers. Endorphins are very similar to morphine but are much more concentrated. Laser also calms nerves that send pain signals.
Laser therapy stimulates healing and the growth of new, healthy tissue. Wounds, burns, sprains, and strains heal much faster with laser therapy.

What kind of problems can be treated with laser therapy?
The following is just a partial list of the conditions that respond well to laser therapy:
Is laser therapy safe?
Cold Laser therapy is very safe for the above conditions and for many others. Laser therapy is not performed over a site of known cancer, over a pregnant abdomen, directly over the eye or over the growth centers in the bones of growing children. Laser should not be used directly over the heart. Other than these precautions, there are no restrictions in hte use of cold laser therapy. It is the safest and most useful physiotherapy device I have encountered in my 26 years of practice.
